Food and wine

Juliet is a keen cook and recipe-writer. Her lifelong fascination with gastronomy led her to work at the International Wine & Food Society in London in the 1970s, where she was assistant editor of the society’s journal. She gained a Higher Certificate from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and was a restaurant inspector for the London Good Food Guide (published by the Consumers’ Association). In the 1980s she edited several cookery books, including Ella-Mei Wong’s Yum Cha and Jocelyn Van Heyst’s Australian Gamekeeper Cookbook, both published by Angus & Robertson, and indexed many others for Murdoch Books. She brings to the task of editing and kitchen-testing recipes her wide and up-to-date knowledge of wine and food and her usual care and accuracy, together with a cook’s judgement about describing procedures and indexing ingredients.
